- Hurt named Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #12 on Monday, February 18th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball. The New Jersey Athletic Conference released their Track, Field and Rookie Athletes of the Week for men's and women's indoor track.

Women's Basketball Update (9-16, 9-9 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

FSC closed out the regular season with victories over both Mount Saint Vincent (102-77) and Yeshiva (67-66) last week.

Sophomore guard Destiny Hurt (Long Beach, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Hurt, who was named Player of the Week twice in the last three weeks, averaged 33 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. She posted a career-best 40 points on Wednesday night against Mount Saint Vincent, which tied for the fifth-best single-game mark in Farmingdale State history, while shooting 18-for-36 from the field and pulling in eight rebounds (seven offensive). Hurt added 24 points and seven boards Saturday night in FSC's regular-season finale at Yeshiva.

The Rams have earned the #6 seed for the Skyline Conference Women's Basketball Championship and will travel to #3 Old Westbury tonight (Tuesday) for the First Round of the playoffs. The winner will head to #2 USMMA for the Semifinals on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

 

Men's Basketball Update (18-7, 16-4 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In their final two regular season games last week, the men's basketball team defeated Skyline opponents Mount Saint Vincent (85-68) and Yeshiva (80-78).

Senior forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Honor Roll after averaging 15.5 points, 15.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game. He posted a 21-point, 20-rebound effort on Saturday night in the victory at Yeshiva and swiped the Macs' inbounds pass with four seconds remaining which led to the Rams' go-ahead basket with 1.2 ticks on the clock.

Farmingdale State is the #1 overall seed and has home court advantage throughout the Skyline Conference Men's Basketball Championship. The Rams will host the winner of #5 Sarah Lawrence/#4 Purchase in the Semifinals on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

 

Indoor Track Update

At the NJAC Indoor Track & Field Championships held at Ocean Breeze on Monday, the FSC women's team placed seventh, while the men took eighth. Next up for the Rams is the Armory Last Chance Qualifier held at the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y. on Friday.
