- Percival named NJAC Track Athlete of the Week - 


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #11 on Monday, February 11th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball. The New Jersey Athletic Conference released their Track, Field and Rookie Athletes of the Week for men's and women's indoor track.

Last week, the Farmingdale State indoor track teams traveled to Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex on Friday for the Fastrack National Invitational.

Junior Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.) was named the NJAC Track Athlete of the Week for the fifth time this season. Percival earns NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors after placing fourth in a field of 82 competitors in the 60m with a time of 6.89. Percival also took sixth of 25 in the 200m Dash Invite in 22.21.

FSC next returns to Ocean Breeze on Monday, February 18th for the NJAC Championships.

 

Women's Basketball Update (7-16, 7-9 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The women's basketball team was 1-1 in a pair of conference games last week after defeating St. Joseph's-Long Island, 78-42, and falling to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, 67-59.

Sophomore forward Alexis Hunter (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll after averaging 10.5 points and 26 rebounds per game. On Wednesday against St. Joe's-L.I., Hunter tallied 10 points and broke the school record for rebounds in one game with 31. She followed with 11 points and 21 boards against the Bears on Saturday.

This week, the Rams close out the regular season with two conference games: Wednesday vs. Mount Saint Vincent (Senior Day) @ 5:30 p.m. and Saturday at Yeshiva (@ Maritime College) @ 8:45 p.m.

 

Men's Basketball Update (16-7, 14-4 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The FSC men's basketball team defeated Skyline opponents St. Joseph's-Long Island (95-80) and St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (90-64) last week to improve to 14-4 in the conference and clinch a First Round bye for the playoffs.

Senior forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Riefenstahl averaged a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to go along with 2.5 assists and 2.5 blocks per game. Against the Golden Eagles on Wednesday, he tallied 18 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Riefenstahl also recorded a season-high five blocks in the game and now holds the school record with 175 career blocked shots. He surpassed AJ Matthews (171 blocks) who had held the record since 2013.

This week, FSC will finish out their regular season schedule with a pair of Skyline games: Wednesday vs. Mount Saint Vincent @ 8:00 p.m. (Breast Cancer Awareness Night) and Saturday at Yeshiva @ 8:30 p.m.
