- Percival named NJAC Track Athlete of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #8 on Monday, January 21st, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball. The New Jersey Athletic Conference released their Track, Field and Rookie Athletes of the Week for men's and women's indoor track.

The Farmingdale State indoor track teams traveled to Ocean Breeze for the NYC Gotham Cup last week.

Junior Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.) was named NJAC Track Athlete of the Week. Percival earns NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the fourth consecutive week after traveling to Staten Island to compete at the NYC Gotham Cup meet. He placed second in a field of 82 competitors in the 60 meters with a runner-up time of 6.94. He also finished seventh in a field of 77 runners in the 200 meters with a time of 22.21. He was a member of the Rams' 4x400 meter relay which placed sixth in a field of 19 teams with a time of 3:26.67.

After a week off, FSC returns to action on Friday, February 1st for the NYU Invitational at the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y.

 

Men's Basketball Update (10-7, 8-4 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In their lone game last week, the men's basketball team traveled to Merchant Marine and fell, 66-55. This week the Rams will host Skyline Conference opponent Old Westbury on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

 

Women's Basketball Update (5-12, 5-6 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

Farmingdale State dropped a pair of games last week to Merchant Marine (53-40) and Brooklyn College (79-58).

Sophomore guard Destiny Hurt (Long Beach, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll averaging 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.0 assists per game.

This week the women's basketball team is slated to play two home games: Tuesday vs. #4 Amherst @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Old Westbury @ noon.
