- Graham named Skyline Player of the Week; Percival earns NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #7 on Tuesday, January 15th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball. The New Jersey Athletic Conference released their Track, Field and Rookie Athletes of the Week for men's and women's indoor track. 

 

Men's Basketball Update (10-6, 8-3 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The FSC men's basketball team went 2-1 in three road Skyline contests last week. The Rams defeated Mount Saint Vincent in double overtime, 102-93, fell to Purchase, 96-86, and cruised past St. Joseph's-Long Island, 97-72.

Senior guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Graham led Farmingdale State after averaging a team-best 25.3 points per game, while shooting 51% from the field and 96% (27-of-28) at the free-throw line. At Mount Saint Vincent, Graham tallied a game-high 31 points and the next game scored a career-high 32 points at Purchase. He finished the week with 13 points in only 21 minutes of action at St. Joseph's-LI.

Farmingdale State's lone game this week tips off on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Merchant Marine.

 

Women's Basketball Update (5-10, 5-5 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The women's basketball team won three conference matchups last week as they earned victories over Mount Saint Vincent (69-52), Purchase (56-44) and St. Joseph's-Long Island (69-58).

Sophomore guard Destiny Hurt (Long Beach, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Hurt led the Rams after averaging a team-high 19.7 points per game. At CMSV, she scored a game-high 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting and followed with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists at Purchase. Hurt closed out the week with 22 points and four assists at St. Joe's-LI.

This week FSC travels to Merchant Marine for a Skyline matchup on Tuesday @ 5:30 p.m. before playing a non-conference game at Brooklyn College on Saturday @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Indoor Track Update - NJAC Men's Full Report      NJAC Women's Full Report

The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the University of Albany Great Dane Classic on Saturday, January 12th at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex.

Junior Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.) was named NJAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week. Percival captured his third consecutive NJAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor after posting two ECAC qualifying times for the second straight week, this time at the Great Dane Classic at Ocean Breeze. He clocked a 6.87 in the 60m preliminary, which is tied for the fastest time in NCAA Division III this season and just .01 off the Farmingdale State school record. He posted a 6.93 in the finals to finish fifth out of eight runners as the only D3 competitor in the event. He also competed in the 200m, clocking a 22.28 to finish 17th (top D3 runner in the event) out of 71. He owns the 11th-fastest time in the nation this season, posting a 22.15 the previous weekend.

This week the Rams return to Ocean Breeze on Friday for the NYC Gotham Cup.
