New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #12 on Tuesday, February 20th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.
Men's Basketball Update (18-7, 16-4 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report
The FSC men's basketball team went 2-0 last week as they outlasted Yeshiva in double overtime, 73-69, on Tuesday and used a come from behind victory against Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, 67-58.
Junior forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Honor Roll after averaging a double-double with 13.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. Riefenstahl recorded 15 points and 16 rebounds versus Yeshiva and followed with 12 points and 11 rebounds along with season-highs in both steals (3) and blocks (4) against Mount Saint Vincent.
The Rams enter the playoffs as the #1 seed and will host the winner of #5 Mount Saint Mary/#4 Yeshiva on Thursday, February 22nd at 7:00 p.m.
Women's Basketball Update (14-11, 13-5 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report
Farmingdale State closed the regular season with a pair of conference wins over Mount Saint Vincent (65-56) and Merchant Marine (65-49).
Senior guard Liz Durchhalter (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll as she averaged 16 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game, while not committing a single turnover. Durchhalter recorded 21 points (6-for-10 shooting) and had seven boards at Mount Saint Vincent and followed with 11 points and six rebounds versus Merchant Marine.
The women's basketball team has earned the #3 seed heading into the Skyline playoffs and will host #6 St. Joseph's-Brooklyn for the First Round on Tuesday, February 20th at 7:00 p.m.
Indoor Track Update
The Rams competed at the NJAC Championships on Monday and will close the week at the Fastrack Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday. At the NJAC's, Farmingdale State set three school records in 60m Hurdles, men's 4x200m Relay and women's Distance Medley Relay.
