FSC Athletics Winter Update #9

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #9 on Monday, January 29th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (11-6, 9-3 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In a pair of games last week, the men's basketball team was 1-1. The Rams dropped a non-conference game to #14 Wesleyan, 86-71, before a Skyline Conference victory over Old Westbury, 84-74.

This week FSC will play three conference games: Tuesday at Maritime @ 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Sarah Lawrence @ 8:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Mount Saint Mary @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Basketball Update (9-10, 8-4 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In a 1-2 week, the women's basketball team fell to conference opponents St. Joseph's-Long Island (83-69) and Old Westbury (66-61) before a convincing 81-39 defeat of Yeshiva as Farmingdale State Head Coach Chris Mooney earned his 300th career win.

Rams senior guard Kaelyn Ward (East Hampton, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Player of the Week Honor Roll after averaging 19.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.3 steals per game. After tallying 23 points, seven rebounds and four steals at SJCLI, Ward recorded a double-double on 16 points and 10 boards at OW and finished the week with 19 points, eight rebounds and six steals versus Yeshiva.

This week Farmingdale State will head on the road for a pair of conference games. FSC will first face St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Tuesday @ 5:00 p.m. and follow with a game at Sarah Lawrence College on Thursday @ 6:00 p.m.

 

Indoor Track Update

The indoor track teams next will compete in the Fastrack National Invitational on Friday, February 9th at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
