New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #7 on Monday, January 15th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.
Men's Basketball Update (9-4, 7-2 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report
Farmingdale State notched a pair of conference victories last week with wins over both Purchase (74-61) and St. Joseph's-Long Island (74-45).
Junior Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Graham scored 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting in the win over Purchase and followed with a game-high 16 points (6-for-11) in the victory at SJC-LI in a 2-0 week for FSC.
This week the men's basketball team will play two Skyline games: Tuesday vs. Merchant Marine @ 7:00 p.m. and Thursday at Mount Saint Vincent @ 7:00 p.m.
Women's Basketball Update (8-8, 7-2 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report
In two Skyline Conference games last week, FSC was 1-1 with a win against Mount Saint Vincent (65-48) and a loss at Merchant Marine (65-62).
Senior guard Liz Durchhalter (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Honor Roll after a career-high 21 points - on seven 3-pointers - which was one shy of the FSC single game record in the home win versus CMSV. She added 11 points and four steals in the 3-point loss at Merchant Marine.
The Rams have the week off and return to action on Monday, January 22nd with a road game at St. Joe's-LI tipping off at 7:00 p.m.
Indoor Track Update
The indoor track teams competed at the Great Dane Classic hosted by the University of Albany at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center in Staten Island, N.Y. last week.
Senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) won the weight throw for the third consecutive meet with a toss of 17.98m, while senior Nicolas Fratto (Farmingdale, N.Y.) moved to eighth in the Nation in the 200m with a career-best time of 22.04.
This week the Rams will compete on Friday at the NYC Gotham Cup at Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center in Staten Island, N.Y.
