- Ward tabbed Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #6 on Monday, January 8th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Women's Basketball Update (7-7, 6-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

The women's basketball team was 2-0 last week with conference victories over both St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (84-55) and Purchase (90-64).

Senior guard Kaelyn Ward (East Hampton, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Ward scored a career and game-high 32 points to go along with six rebounds and five steals in the win over St. Joe's-Brooklyn and followed with 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the victory at Purchase. Ward shot 57-percent from the field in Farmingdale State's two games.

This week the Rams will play a pair of Skyline Conference games: Wednesday vs. Mount Saint Vincent @ 5:00 p.m. and Saturday at Merchant Marine @ noon.

 

Men's Basketball Update (7-4, 5-2 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

FSC carded Skyline wins over both Sarah Lawrence (80-66) and Mount Saint Mary (60-45) last week.

Junior guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Graham scored 17 points (7-of-14 shooting), had five rebounds and five assists versus SLC and added 16 points (5-of-11 shooting) at MSMC. Graham averaged a team-leading 16.5 points per game for the Rams.

The men's basketball team will play two Skyline games this week: Wednesday vs. Purchase @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at St. Joseph's-LI @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Indoor Track Update

The indoor track teams next will compete in the University of Albany Great Dane Classic on Saturday, January 13th at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
