FSC Athletics Winter Update #4

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #4 on Monday, December 11th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (4-3, 2-2 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report 

The men's basketball team was 1-1 in a pair of Skyline Conference games last week. The Rams defeated Old Westbury (90-73) and fell at Merchant Marine (71-53).

Junior George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after averaging a double-double with 18.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. He scored 22 points (8-for-13) and had a game-high 15 rebounds versus OW and followed with 15 points (7-for-10) and nine boards against Merchant Marine.

This week FSC is slated to play two road games: Tuesday at Yeshiva @ 8:00 p.m. and Friday at #6 Ramapo @ 7:30 p.m. 

 

Women's Basketball Update (3-6, 2-1 Skyline) - Skyline Full Report

In their only game last week, Farmingdale State earned a 74-48 victory over St. Joseph's-Long Island. 

The women's basketball team will play three games this week: Tuesday vs. Sarah Lawrence @ 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Mount Saint Mary @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Albertus Magnus @ 1:00 p.m.

 

Indoor Track Update

The indoor track teams competed at the St. John's "Bill Ward" Invitational at St. Anthony's in Huntington, N.Y. last week.

Senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) broke the Farmingdale State school record to win the weight throw with a toss of 59' 5.5" (18.12m). His mark surpassed the previous record held by Ed Brown since 2012.

For the women, sophomore Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) placed fourth in the 3000m (11:19.79) and senior Nicole Franz (Melville, N.Y.) took fifth in the 800m (2:38.65).

The Rams have three weeks off and return to action on Friday, January 5th for the Wagner College Invitational held at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
