Graham and Riefenstahl Lead FSC in Win at Old Westbury

Farmingdale State - 90, Old Westbury - 73


Old Westbury, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team traveled to Old Westbury on Tuesday night for a Skyline Conference game and earned a 90-73 victory. FSC junior guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and junior forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) led the way for the Rams with 25 and 22 points, respectively.

Trailing 14-11 with 13:09 left in the first half, Farmingdale State (4-2, 2-1) used a 7-0 run to regain the lead, 18-14. After five quick OW (2-2, 1-1) points put the Panthers back in front, the Rams responded with three straight baskets to go on top, 24-19, with 6:46 remaining. The Rams took a four-point edge, 32-28, into the halftime break as Riefenstahl led all scorers with 10 points to go along with eight rebounds.

With 10:51 remaining and FSC ahead 51-45, an 11-2 run over the next 3:13 which saw seven points from Graham and four by junior forward Eriq Williams (Valley Stream, N.Y.) extended the advantage to 62-47. The Panthers cut the deficit to 10, 66-56, with less than six minutes to play before FSC used a Riefenstahl layup and 3-pointer from Graham to go on top, 71-56.

Over the final 2:59, the Rams were 14-for-14 from the free-throw line to cap off the 90-73 road victory.

Graham finished the night with a game-high 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Riefenstahl added a double-double on 22 points and a game-high 15 boards.

Old Westbury was led by senior guard Preston Powell (Farmingville, N.Y.) who tallied 18 points and senior guard Terrin Roland's (Jamaica, N.Y.) 17 points, five assists and four steals.

The Rams next travel to Merchant Marine for a Skyline Conference game on Thursday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m.
