FSC Athletics Winter Update #3

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #3 on Tuesday, December 5th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (3-2, 1-1 Skyline)

The Rams were 2-0 last week with victories over both Lehman (89-86 OT) and Maritime (71-59).

Junior guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. In the win versus Lehman, Graham scored 21 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds remaining in overtime and had a game-high five assists. He followed with 16 points in the home victory over Maritime in a 2-0 week for Farmingdale State.

This week the men's basketball team will play three conference road games: Tuesday at Old Westbury @ 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Merchant Marine @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at Purchase @ noon.

Women's Basketball Update (2-6, 1-1 Skyline)

FSC posted a 1-2 mark in three games last week. The Rams defeated Yeshiva (98-52) and fell to Old Westbury (94-71) and #1 Amherst (74-34).

Junior guard Alexis Antonacci (Plainview, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll. Antonacci led the team in scoring (19.0 ppg), field goal percentage (.444), 3-point field goal percentage (.474), free-throw percentage (.941) and assists (8), while tallying a career-high 32 points versus Old Westbury.

Farmingdale State will host St. Joseph's-LI in their only game this week on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

Indoor Track Update

The indoor track teams competed at the Fastrack Season Opener at Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. and has six ECAC qualifying performances and won four events. The men won three events (200m, 60m hurdles & weight throw), while the women won the 3000m. Senior Jyaire Ewa's (Rochdale, N.Y.) toss of 17.87m in the weight throw currently leads the New Jersey Athletic Conference and the region.

This week FSC will travel to St. Anthony's High School in Huntington, N.Y. for the St. John's "Bill Ward" Invitational on Thursday.
