Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team hosted Maritime in a Skyline Conference game this afternoon and earned a 71-59 victory.

Trailing 13-6 with 15:29 left in the first half, Farmingdale State (3-2, 1-1) used an Ali Mableton (Brentwood, N.Y.) layup and jumper from Chaz Platt (Jamaica, N.Y.) to close within four, 13-10. After a Privateers (2-3, 1-1) score on their next possession, four straight points by Mableton cut the FSC deficit to one.

With 6:57 on the clock and the game even at 19-19, a 7-0 Rams run over the next 2:42 put FSC out in front, 26-19. Farmingdale State took a 30-24 advantage into halftime.

Leading 47-43 midway through the second half, the Rams used a pair of free-throws from both Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and Liam Monaghan (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) to go ahead by eight. After Maritime hit 1-of-2 at the line on their next possession, FSC answered with six straight points to extend the lead to 57-46 with 4:56 remaining.

The Privateers could not cut the deficit to less than eight points down the stretch as the Rams earned the 71-59 win.

Graham registered a team-high 16 points and had five rebounds, while Monaghan scored 10 points, had five boards and a game-high five assists. Mableton finished the afternoon with 12 points (6-for-7) and junior forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) added 10 points (5-for-6) and six rebounds.

Senior center Patrick MacDonald (Buffalo, N.Y.) recorded a double-double with game-highs in both points (19) and rebounds (13) for Maritime.

Prior to the game, the Farmingdale State Men's Basketball program hosted their second annual CYO Day which was a clinic for kids of all ages that offered the chance to learn skills and drills from FSC coaches and players.
