Riefenstahl, Mableton and Irvine Earn All-Conference Honors

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference has announced its 2016-17 men's basketball all-conference teams in voting conducted by the league's 12 head coaches.

For Farmingdale State, sophomore forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named First Team All-Conference, sophomore guard Ali Mableton (Brentwood, N.Y.) earned Second Team honors and senior forward Weldon Irvine* (Queens, N.Y.) was tabbed Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Riefenstahl started every game this season and led the team in scoring (12.4 ppg), field goal percentage (.575) and blocks (47) and was second in rebounding (9.5 rpg). He had 10 double-doubles and 13 double-digit rebound games this season. In the Skyline, Riefenstahl ranked first in field goal percentage, fourth in rebounding, fifth for blocks and 16th in scoring. Nationally, he ranks 48th in total rebounds, 50th in field goal percentage and 54th for both blocks and offensive rebounds per game.

Mableton appeared in every game, while starting 26 and led Farmingdale State in steals (45), was second in both scoring (12.1) and field goal percentage (.550) and fourth in rebounding (3.5 rpg). He recorded double-digit point totals in 21-of-27 games this year. In the Skyline, Mableton ranked sixth in steals and 17th for scoring.

Irvine, the team captain, played in 25 games with 24 starts. He led the Rams in rebounding (9.8 rpg) and was second in blocks with 24. He anchored an FSC defense that ranks sixth in the Nation in rebounds per game, seventh in rebounds and eighth in field goal percentage defense.
