Skyline Releases Winter Weekly Report #13

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #13 on Monday, February 20th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (18-7, 14-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's basketball team went 1-1 this past week after hosting conference opponents Yeshiva and St. Joseph's-L.I.

The Rams defeated Yeshiva 69-56 before dropping the final game of the regular season against St. Joe's-LI, 71-62.

Farmingdale State sophomore forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) once again earned himself Player of the Week Honor Roll recognition after posting 20 points and 12 rebounds vs. the Maccabees and 16 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks against the Golden Eagles.

The men finished with the best record in the conference and earned the top-seed for the Skyline Conference Playoffs. The Rams obtained a First Round bye and secured home court advantage throughout. They will host the First Round winner of #5 Yeshiva/#4 Purchase on Thursday, February 23rd at 7:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball Update (14-11, 12-6 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 2-1 on the week, earning a pair of conference wins to go along with a non-conference loss.

FSC defeated Purchase (74-43) at home and Mount Saint Vincent (74-61) on the road.

Junior guard Kaelyn Ward (East Hampton, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll after averaging 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

With the two wins, FSC earned the #5 seed heading into the playoffs. They will travel back to fourth-seeded Mount Saint Vincent for the First Round of the playoffs on Tuesday, February 21st at 7:00 p.m.

Indoor Track Update

The indoor track teams competed at the NJAC Championships in Staten Island, N.Y. on Monday, February 20th. The men finished in fifth place, while the women took eighth at the meet.

Junior Nicolas Fratto (Farmingdale, N.Y.) won the 200m after posting a time of 22.59. Fratto also earned a sixth place finish in the 60m.

The Rams next compete on Friday, February 25th at the Fasttrack Last Chance Qualifier at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center in Staten Island, N.Y.
