Skyline Releases Winter Weekly Report #11

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #11 on Monday, February 6th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Women's Basketball Update (11-9, 9-5 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's basketball team posted a 1-2 mark last week in three conference games. After a home win over Merchant Marine to open the week, the Rams dropped games at both Old Westbury and St. Joe's-Bklyn.

Sophomore forward AJ Smith (Freeport, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Smith netted 16-plus points in all three of the Rams' contests last week, averaging 18.3 per outing to go with 8.7 rebounds. She collected a pair of game-highs in points, including 16 (6-for-8 FG) against Merchant Marine and 22 at Old Westbury. Smith registered a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.

This week FSC will play two Skyline games: Wednesday at Sage @ 6:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Mount Saint Mary @ 1:00 p.m.

Men's Basketball Update (16-5, 12-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams stretched their winning streak to 12 games with victories over Maritime and Mount Saint Vincent last week.

Sophomore guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after shooting 57-percent from the field, while averaging 18.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Graham scored 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting and had four rebounds versus Maritime and followed with a team-high 19 points (6-for-9) and had six rebounds against Mount Saint Vincent.

The men's basketball team will play two conference games this week: Wednesday vs. St. Joe's-Bklyn @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at Old Westbury @ noon.

Indoor Track Update

The men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the 2017 Armory Invitational last week. The men earned a 21st place finish, while the women did not register a team score.

This week FSC will travel to St. Anthony's in Melville, N.Y. for the St. Joseph's Invitational on Saturday.
