- Harrison named Player of the Week; Riefenstahl tabbed Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #12 on Monday, February 15th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball. The New Jersey Athletic Conference released the Track Athlete, Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week selections for men's and women's indoor track.

Women's Basketball Update (9-14, 8-6 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams were 2-1 last week with conference wins over St. Joseph's-L.I. (69-60) and St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (69-65).

Sophomore guard Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Over Farmingdale State's three contests, she scored at a 29.3 ppg rate, adding averages of 3.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.3 steals per contest, as well. Harrison had an 18-point effort to start the week at non-conference Brooklyn College, poured in 45 points (16-for-29 FG, 3-for-4 3FG, 10-for-12 FT) to go with six steals against St. Joseph's-Long Island, for the third-best single-game scoring output ever by an FSC player. She ended the week with 25 points in an important four-point Skyline victory versus St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. Harrison leads the conference on the season with a 22.8 points per game average.

This week the women's basketball will play two games as they close out the regular season: Wednesday at Old Westbury @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday home vs. Mount Saint Vincent @ noon.

Men's Basketball Update (12-11, 12-6 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC was 2-0 last week after earning victories over both St. Joseph's-L.I. (69-51) and St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (100-80).

Freshman forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Co-Rookie of the Week. Riefenstahl recorded a double-double with game-highs in points (25) and rebounds (14), while shooting 12-for-18 from the field in the win vs. St. Joe's-Brooklyn. He scored nine points on 3-of-4 shooting in the win versus St. Joe's-LI and shot 68% from the field in a 2-0 week for Farmingdale State.

Sophomore guard Trey Kinard (Deer Park, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after averaging a team-high 21.5 points per game. He shot 65% from the field, 69% from behind the arc and held a 5:1 assist to turnover ratio on the week.

The Rams play their final two regular season games this week: Thursday at Old Westbury @ 6:00 p.m. and Saturday home versus Mount Saint Vincent @ 2:00 p.m.

Indoor Track Update   

The indoor track teams traveled to St. Anthony's in Melville, N.Y. for the Molloy Invitational last week.

Sophomore Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) led the men as he won the weight throw with a toss of 17.60m, while junior Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) took third in the weight throw with a distance of 14.48m for the women.

The Rams next will compete in the NJAC Championships at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. on Monday, February 22nd.
