- Ewa named Field Athlete of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #9 on Monday, January 25th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball. The New Jersey Athletic Conference released the Track Athlete, Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week selections for men's and women's indoor track.

Women's Basketball Update (6-12, 5-5 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State posted a 1-2 record in three games last week. The Rams defeated Yeshiva (78-41) and suffered losses to both #2 Amherst (70-32) and Old Westbury (73-48).

Sophomore guard Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after averaging 18.0 points, 5.7 steals and 4.7 assists per game. Harrison recorded her first career triple-double at Yeshiva with 27 points, 11 assists and a school record 13 steals.

The women's basketball team will play one game this week when they travel to Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Basketball Update (8-9, 8-4 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams fell, 71-69, at Yeshiva in their only game last week.

Freshman guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) led the way with 11 points and six assists in the 2-point loss at Yeshiva.

FSC will play two games this week: Tuesday - home vs. Old Westbury @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at Maritime @ 1:00 p.m.

Indoor Track Update - Full Report

On Friday, Farmingdale State traveled to the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. for the NYC Gotham Cup.

Sophomore Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) was named NJAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Ewa picked up his second career NJAC Field Athlete of the Week accolade after strong throws at the NYC Gotham Cup last weekend. He set a career-best weight throw mark of 17.24 meters, hitting the ECAC qualifying standard and topping the field of 28 competitors at the Gotham Cup. The mark is currently the best in the NJAC this season and ranks tied for ninth nationally. Ewa also competed in the shot put, throwing 12.78 meters. He owns the ninth best shot put throw in the NJAC this season.

This week the indoor track teams will compete in the Ramapo Indoor Select Meet held at the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York, N.Y.
