Skyline Releases Winter Weekly Report #8

- Riefenstahl and Solomon tabbed Rookie's of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #8 on Monday, January 18th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (8-8, 8-3 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's basketball team was 3-0 on the week after earning Skyline Conference victories over St. Joseph's-LI (67-65), Maritime (96-86) and Sage (70-51).

Freshman forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named Rookie of the Week. Riefenstahl averaged 13.7 points and 6.0 rebounds over the Rams' 3-0 week, while knocking down 16-of-23 field goals (.696). He scored career-best 22 points (9-for-10 FG) and pulled down seven boards against Maritime and added 11 points vs. St. Joseph's-LI.

This week Farmingdale State will travel to Yeshiva on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball Update (5-10, 4-4 Skyline) - Full Report

FSC dropped a pair of conference games to St. Joseph's-LI (68-48) and Sage (74-51) last week.

Sophomore guard Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll after averaging 20.0 points and 7.0 rebounds on the week. Harrison poured in a game-high 26 points in the home loss to Sage.

The women's basketball team will play three games this week: Tuesday vs. #2 Amherst @ 4:00 p.m., Wednesday at Yeshiva @ 8:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. Old Westbury @ noon.

Indoor Track Update - Full Report

The indoor track teams returned to action on Saturday at the St. Joseph's Winter Invitational held at St. Anthony's. The Rams recorded 16 Top-3 finishes at the meet.

Freshman Tunisia Solomon (Amityville, N.Y.) was named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. She placed first in the triple jump with a winning leap of 10.62 meters. The career-best mark for Solomon in the triple jump event marked the seventh best leap in school-history and currently stands as the 35th best mark in the event in all of NCAA Division III this season.

This week FSC will travel to the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. for the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday.
