Farmingdale State - 82, Sarah Lawrence - 54
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team earned their third straight victory with this afternoon's 82-54 win over Skyline opponent Sarah Lawrence. The Rams now stand at 3-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference, while the Gryphons fell to 2-8, 0-6.
FSC trailed 9-8 after the first 4:09 of the game and used a 12-2 run over the next 2:24 to take a 10-point lead at 21-11. After Sarah Lawrence closed within five, the Rams responded with nine unanswered points to extend the advantage to 34-18 with 8:23 left in the half.
Farmingdale State shot 57% from the field in the first half and took a 44-30 lead into the break as senior guard Eddie Kinloch (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored a team-high 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Leading 57-37 with 14:31 remaining, the Rams scored 13 straight points, including three 3-pointers to open up a 70-37 lead. After a basket on Sarah Lawrence's next possession, freshman guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) connected on back-to-back 3's to give the Rams their largest lead of the game, 76-39, with 9:06 left on the clock.
FSC held at least a 28-point advantage the remainder of the way en route to the 82-54 victory.
The Rams had five double-digit scorers as sophomore guard Trey Kinard (Deer Park, N.Y.) led the way with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Graham was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor, including 3-for-3 from behind the arc for 13 points, while Kinloch and sophomore guard Liam Monaghan (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) each had 12 points. Sophomore guard Jarred Marrow (Amityville, N.Y.) pitched in with 11 points in the victory.
The Gryphons were led by junior forward Parker Hagmaier's (Oakland, Calif.) game-high 17 points.
The Rams have a few weeks off before traveling to Montclair State for a non-conference game on Wednesday, December 30th at 1:00 p.m.
