Skyline Releases Winter Weekly Report #4

- Harrison named Player of the Week, Riefenstahl tabbed Rookie of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #4 on Monday, December 7th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Women's Basketball Update (2-5, 1-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's basketball team was 1-2 in three games last week. The Rams defeated Yeshiva (65-41) and fell to both Albertus Magnus (90-70) and Sage (64-48).

Sophomore guard Tyra Harrison (Baldwin, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Harrison averaged a team-leading 28.3 points in FSC's three games. She shot 49% from the field and added 16 steals and nine assists. Harrison scored a game and career-high 35 points and had five steals at Sage and poured in a game-high 30 points, had six assists and four steals versus Albertus Magnus. Tyra had a game-high 20 points and seven steals in the home win over Yeshiva.

Harrison was also named an Honorable Mention for the week by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association and named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.

This week the Rams will play at Purchase on Tuesday @ 8:00 p.m. and at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Thursday @ 7:30 p.m.

Men's Basketball Update (0-6, 0-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams suffered a pair of losses last week versus Yeshiva (74-69) and at Sage (88-69).

Freshman forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week after he averaged 15 points and eight rebounds in FSC's two games. At Sage, he recorded a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 13 boards.

The men's basketball team has three conference games this week: Tuesday at Purchase @ 6:00 p.m., Thursday at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ 5:30 p.m. and Saturday home vs. Sarah Lawrence @ 1:00 p.m.

Indoor Track Update

The indoor track teams opened the 2015-16 season at the Metro Holiday Season Opener held at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. 

Sophomore Jyaire Ewa (North Massapequa, N.Y.) placed 7th in the weight throw with a toss of 16.57m (54' 4 1/4") which improves his #5 FSC All-Time mark.

Freshman Tunisia Solomon (Amityville, N.Y.) leaped 10.38m in the women's Triple Jump to place #7 on the FSC All-Time list in her first collegiate event.

This week the indoor track teams will compete in two meets...On Tuesday - The St. John's "Bill Ward" Invitational at St. Anthony's in Melville, N.Y. and on Friday - The Wagner Shootout at Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex.
