Lanieri Leads Rams in Loss at Stony Brook

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team traveled to Division I Stony Brook on Saturday for a non-conference game and fell, 91-42.

The Seawolves (3-2) started fast and opened up a 34-4 lead with 9:32 remaining in the first half. Trailing 52-13, Farmingdale State (0-4) senior forward Anthony Lanieri (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) closed the half with a 3-pointer and a layup to cut the deficit to 52-18.

Stony Brook outscored the Rams 39-24 in the second half as they earned a 91-42 victory.

Lanieri scored a team-high 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while sophomore guard Trey Kinard (Deer Park, N.Y.) pitched in with six points. Senior guard Eddie Kinloch (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded a team-leading eight rebounds and four assists in the loss.

The Seawolves were led by senior forward Jameel Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) who had a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards. Junior guards Kameron Mitchell (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Ahman Walker (Port Washington, N.Y.) scored 12 and 11 points, respectively for Stony Brook.

This was the first time Farmingdale State had squared off against a Division I opponent since November 13, 2010 when the Rams played at Hofstra University.

FSC next will host Yeshiva in their Skyline Conference opener on Wednesday, December 2nd at 9:00 p.m.
