Skyline Releases Winter Weekly Report #13

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #13 on Monday, February 16th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Women's Basketball Update (15-8, 10-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's basketball team continued their conference undefeated streak last week. The Rams defeated Old Westbury 65-61 on Wednesday and then defeated Purchase on Saturday afternoon, 70-56.

Junior guard Andrea Desvignes (Deer Park, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll, after averaging 21 points and 8.5 rebounds. Andrea recorded a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds, while adding five steals in the win at Old Westbury. She then scored 20 points, had eight steals, six rebounds and four assists in the win against Purchase.

This week, Farmingdale State will host St. Joe's on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. and Sage on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Rams have clinched the #1 seed for the Conference Tournament, which starts Thursday, February 26th.

 

Men's Basketball Update (8-14, 6-9 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State remains in the Playoff hunt with a pair of Skyline Conference victories last week. The Rams defeated Old Westbury, 54-50, on Wednesday night before cruising past Sarah Lawrence, 55-34, on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman center Ronald Winkler (North Massapequa, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll after averaging 9.5 points, 9 rebounds and shooting 50-percent from the field. Winkler recorded a double-double with career-highs in points (17) and rebounds (13) in the 55-34 win over Sarah Lawrence.

The Rams close-out the regular season this week with three Skyline games: Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. vs. St. Joe's; Thursday at Yeshiva at 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday vs. Yeshiva at 1:00 p.m.
