St. Joe's Earns Road Win at Farmingdale State

Farmingdale, N.Y. - After trailing by six at half, St. Joseph's outscored Farmingdale State 45-23 in the second half as they earned a 63-47 Skyline Conference victory this evening in Farmingdale, N.Y.

Leading 7-6 in a low scoring first half, the Rams (8-15, 6-10) used an Eddie Kinloch (Brooklyn, N.Y.) jumper and back-to-back layups from Anthony Lanieri (Lake Grove, N.Y.) to extend their advantage to 13-6 with 9:00 remaining.

After an Isiah Moore (North Babylon, N.Y.) 3-pointer gave St. Joe's (16-8, 13-4) a one point lead at 17-16, Farmingdale State closed the half on an 8-1 run capped off by a Trey Kinard (Deer Park, N.Y.) 3-pointer to take a 24-18 lead into the break.

The Golden Eagles started the second half on a 26-3 run to open up a 44-27 lead with 12:56 left on the clock.

Trailing 46-29, the Rams used a pair of Kinloch free-throws and a 3 by junior guard Ruben Terrero (Brentwood, N.Y.) to close within 12, 46-34. Farmingdale State was unable to cut the deficit to single-digits as St. Joe's earned the 63-47 road win.

Freshman guard Jarred Marrow (Amityville, N.Y.) scored a team-high 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range. Kinloch finished with eight points and sophomore forward Weldon Irvine (Queens, N.Y.) scored four points and had a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles were led by sophomore forward Fernando Vazquez's (Babylon, N.Y.) game-high 23 points.

The Rams next will head to Yeshiva on Thursday, February 19th for a conference game tipping off at 8:00 p.m.
