- Romero named Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #10 on Monday, January 27th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Women's Basketball Update (8-7, 5-1 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State was 2-0 on the week with conference wins over St. Joseph's (66-55) and Mount Saint Vincent (69-44).

Junior guard Camille Romero (Queens, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Romero averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the pair of games. She shot 17-for-32 from the field and added four steals. Romero scored a team-high 21 points on Jan. 23 versus St. Joseph's and poured in a game-high 26 points against Mount Saint Vincent on Jan. 25. She was tabbed the Skyline Player of the Week for the second time this season.

This week the women's basketball team will host NYU-Poly on Monday at 6:00 p.m., Old Westbury on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and travel to Mount Saint Mary on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

 

Men's Basketball Update (11-5, 7-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's basketball team was 1-1 on the week with a 70-69 victory over St. Joe's and a 94-81 loss versus Mount Saint Mary.

Junior guard Justin Bailey (Jamaica, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. He scored 14 points (5-of-10 shooting), including 3-for-6 from 3-point range and had five rebounds against St. Joseph's. Bailey scored a team-high 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting (4-for-9 from 3-point range) and added five boards in the loss to MSMC. He shot 54% from the field in Farmingdale State's two games.

The Rams next will travel to Maritime on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and host Purchase on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
