- Lawes named Co-Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #9 on Tuesday, January 21st, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (10-4, 6-1 Skyline) - Full Report

Farmingdale State earned a 71-65 home win over conference opponent Old Westbury in their only game of the week.

Senior center Donald Lawes (Queens, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week. Lawes scored 13 points and grabbed a career-best 20 rebounds in the win over Old Westbury. He shot 4-of-7 from the field, added five blocked shots and a steal. Lawes was named the Skyline Player of the Week for the second time this season.

This week the Rams will host St. Joe's on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. and Mount Saint Mary on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

 

Women's Basketball Update (6-7, 3-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams played three games and suffered losses against #3 Amherst and Purchase before earning a 71-68 win at Sage on Monday.

Junior guard Camille Romero (Queens, N.Y.) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll. Romero led the Rams in scoring in each of their three games as she scored 21 versus #3 Amherst, had 22 points and four rebounds against Purchase and tallied 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting in the win at Sage.

The women's basketball team will host St. Joseph's on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and travel to Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
