- Merrill named Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #7 on Monday, January 6th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Women's Basketball Update (3-4, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

After nearly a month long break, the Rams returned to action and defeated Medgar Evers, 65-37.

Junior guard Christina Merrill (Levittown, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Merrill scored a team-high 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting and knocked down 4-of-5 shots from 3-point range in just 14 minutes of action. She added two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Merrill matched her single game career-high with four field goals from beyond the arc.

This week the women's basketball team will host Albertus Magnus on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., Manhattanville on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. and Mount Saint Mary on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Basketball Update (7-4, 3-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's basketball team posted a 2-1 mark with wins over York (Pa.) and NYU-Poly.

Senior center Donald Lawes (Queens, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Lawes was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Wyndham Reading Holiday Tournament hosted by Albright after recording 21 points (9-of-10 shooting), eight boards and five blocks against Pitt-Bradford and then added 14 points, six rebounds and eight blocks versus York (Pa.).

Farmingdale State will host Mount Saint Vincent on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to Sage on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
