- Purvis named Player of the Week, Molina earns Rookie honors -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #14 on Monday, February 25th, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Women's Basketball Update (12-12) - Full Report

The women's team captured the 2012-13 Skyline Conference Championship with a 40-39 win at Purchase on Saturday. The Rams clinched a berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament and will travel to Amherst College for their First Round game on Friday, March 1st at 7:00 p.m.

Senior forward Siohban Purvis (Amityville, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Purvis led all players in scoring (13) and rebounding (13) as Farmingdale State edged Purchase in the finals. She shot 6-of-11 from the field and added five steals. Purvis was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship for her efforts.

Men's Basketball Update (20-8) - Full Report

The men's basketball team fell, 71-48, at Purchase in the conference finals this past week. Freshman guard Wilson Molina (Woodside, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Molina averaged 12.3 points and 3.0 assists over three contests as Farmingdale State advanced to the finals of the Skyline Men's Basketball Championship for the second consecutive year. He shot 5-of-9 from 3-point range and added seven rebounds. Molina scored 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting on February 19th in the Rams' 80-65 first round victory over Sage. He then scored 15 points and grabbed four rebounds in an 81-69 semifinal win versus Old Westbury on February 21st. Molina was named the Skyline Rookie of the Week for the first time this season.
