Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team defeated St. Joseph's, 106-63, this evening in Farmingdale, N.Y. Senior guard Ryan Davis (Queens, N.Y.) scored a game-high 29 points and had 11 assists, which tied his previous career-high and school record. Senior forward AJ Matthews (Brooklyn, N.Y.) fell one block shy of a triple-double tallying 25 points, 17 boards and nine blocks. Matthews also tied his career-high and the Farmingdale State school record of nine blocks.

The Rams (17-5, 13-2) shot 61% from the field in the first half and took a 46-30 advantage to halftime.

Farmingdale State started the second half on a 14-3 run to quickly extend their lead to 60-33. The Rams opened up a 40 point lead, 85-45, with 5:24 left in the game and shot 59% percent from 3-point range in the second half en route to the 106-63 conference victory.

Senior guard Christian Nunez (White Plains, N.Y.) scored 14 points and had a game-high five steals for Farmingdale State.

The Golden Eagles (6-16, 4-11) were led by sophomore guard Evan Mohammed (Bayside, N.Y.) who scored 21 points.

The Rams next will travel to Purchase for a Skyline game on Saturday, February 9th at 2:00 p.m.
