New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Winter weekly report #8 on Monday, January 14, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's basketball.

Men's Basketball Update (8-4, 4-1) - Full Report

The Rams posted a pair of Skyline victories this week as they earned a 74-55 home win against Sage and traveled to Maritime for an 80-50 win.

Senior forward AJ Matthews (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Matthews averaged 27.5 points and 17.0 rebounds while shooting 22-of-36 this week. He scored 33 points and grabbed 20 rebounds against Sage and added 22 points and 14 boards versus Maritime. Matthews also had four blocks and four steals. This was the fourth time he earned Player of the Week honors this season. Matthews currently leads the nation in rebounding (15.3 rpg), is fifth in blocks (3.08 bpg), eighth in points (24.9 ppg) and 11th in double-doubles (8).

Farmingdale State started this week off with a 72-66 win over Mount Saint Mary and will travel to St. Joe's on Wednesday, January 16th at 7:15 p.m. and host Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, January 19th at 3:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball Update (4-7, 2-2) - Full Report

The women's team fell 72-48 to seventh-ranked Amherst and lost 59-48 at home to Sage. Senior guard Nikita Green (Roosevelt, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Green averaged 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals over two contests for Farmingdale State.

The Rams hosted defending champion Mount Saint Mary College last night and fell 50-47. Later this week, the women will travel to St. Joseph's on Wednesday, January 16th at 5:00 p.m. and host Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, January 19th at 1:00 p.m.
