Throggs Neck, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State men's basketball team defeated Maritime College, 81-47, Thursday night at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium. The win improves the Rams overall record to 11-4, 7-1 in the Skyline, while the Privateers fall to 2-14 on the season, 2-7 in conference play.

The Rams scored the first six points of the game and built its lead up to 18-13 with 11:33 left in the half. The Privateers cut the deficit to just one, 18-17, before freshman Tyler Brown (New York, N.Y.) nailed a three-pointer at 7:47 to give the Privateers their only lead of the night. Farmingdale State fought back and ended the half on a 13-2 run to hold a 31-22 lead at the break.

The Rams came out strong in the second, expanding their lead to double-digits and as much as 22 points in the first five minutes. 14 second-half turnovers by Maritime led to 12 points for the Rams. The Farmingdale lead grew to 30 points with 10:03 to go, squandering any chance for the Privateers to come back.
