Dyshaun is a 2006 graduate of Brentwood High School, where he was named All-League, All-Conference and All-County. He transferred to Farmingdale State from Suffolk CC, where he played two seasons. Dyshaun is the son of Arnold Flournoy and Tawana Gaither.

Senior year...Finished third on the team in scoring with 15.2 points per game and assists with 53. Shot .394 from the field and 31.4% from 3-point range. Started all 26 games played. Moved into 4th All-Time at FSC for Field Goals Made (111) and Field Goals Attempted (326).

Junior year...Named Second Team All-Skyline after finishing second on the team in scoring (14.5 ppg) and a team-leading 62 three-point field goals. Single-game highs of 24 points at Old Westbury and Yeshiva.
