Rams Roll Past NYU-Poly

Farmingdale State - 72, NYU-Poly - 49


Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team defeated NYU-Poly in a Skyline matchup, 72-49, to improve to 11-7 overall, 10-3 in the conference. The Fighting Blue Jays dropped to 0-18, 0-14 in Skyline play. Three players scored in double-digits for the Rams, including junior guard Joshua Smith (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park), senior forward Jermaine Abraham (Brooklyn, N.Y./Wadleigh) and junior guard Dyshaun Flournoy (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood).

Leading 39-21 at the break, the Rams would extend the lead to 55-30, their largest of the game, midway through the second half. Farmingdale State would continue its defensive intensity over the final 12 minutes and defeat NYU-Poly 72-49.

Farmingdale State was led by Abraham who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Smith and Flournoy scored 17 and 15 points respectively for the Rams.

Senior forward Jason Buckner (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) scored 15 points for the Fighting Blue Jays, while junior center Alex Westphal (Port Washington, WI/Port Washington) had eight points and 15 rebounds in the loss.

Farmingdale State will travel to Mount Saint Vincent tomorrow for a conference game at 7:00 p.m.
