Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team improved to 9-6, 8-2 in the Skyline tonight with an 89-68 victory over the visiting Yeshiva Maccabees (2-12, 2-8). The Rams were led by junior guard Dyshaun Flournoy (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) with a game-high 24 points and junior forward Robert Adon (New York, N.Y./Philip A. Randolph) with 21 points.

The first half featured four ties and two lead changes, as the teams traded baskets and were both shooting over 60-percent mid-way through the first. The Rams led by one point with 5:27 remaining, before pulling away over the final five minutes to hold a 46-35 lead at the break.

In the second, Farmingdale shot 68-percent from the field and 83-percent from long range (5-for-6), as they continued to control the tempo and scored 43 more points to hold on for the win. The Maccabees hit just one three-pointer (1-of-8) in the second half.

Junior guard Joshua Smith (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

For Yeshiva, sophomore forward Dovie Hoffman (Tarzana, Calif./Valley Torah) had 18 points and six rebounds, while sophomore guard Gil Bash (Tel Aviv, Israel/Alliance) scored 16 points.

The Rams will now travel to face The Sage Colleges on Saturday, January 22nd at 3:00 p.m. The game will be played off-site at Sage College of Albany.
