New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team earned their first Skyline Conference win of the season last night with a 76-52 victory at Yeshiva University. The Rams shot 43% from the field in the first half and held a 34-23 advantage at halftime.

In the second half, the Maccabees (1-6, 1-3 Skyline) pulled within seven points at the 17:11 mark, but Farmingdale State (2-2, 1-0 Skyline) responded with a 14-4 run over the next 5:04, extending their lead to 50-33. The Rams held at least a 14 point lead for the remainder of the contest as they cruised to victory in their Skyline Conference opener.

Farmingdale's John Dabney (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) led all scorers with 23 points, shooting 56% from the floor, including 5-for-7 from behind the arc. Senior forward Jermaine Abraham (Brooklyn, N.Y./Wadleigh) was 8-for-9 from the field, as he scored 17 points and recorded seven rebounds. Junior guard Joshua Smith (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) recorded 12 points and grabbed a game-high eight boards for the Rams.

Yeshiva's Dovie Hoffman (Tarzana, CA/Valley Torah) scored a team-best 15 points, had five rebounds and four blocked shots.

Farmingdale State next will host Maritime in the teams home opener on Tuesday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m.
