The Men’s Basketball team finished with a record of 13-13, including 9-7
in the Skyline Conference. Farmingdale’s successful season came to an end
in the Skyline Semifinal playoff game as the Rams were defeated by
eventual Skyline Champions SUNY Old Westbury. Farmingdale opened up
the playoffs by defeating defending champions King’s Point by a score
of 64-62. In that game, Farmingdale was down by 16 points at the half
before making an improbable comeback.
Individually, the team was led by sophomore forward Kenny McMillian who
led the team in scoring (16.5 ppg), rebounding (9.1 per game) and
steals (57). McMillian was named First Team All Skyline after finishing
fourth in the conference in scoring and third in rebounding. Junior guard
Willie Samuels averaged 16 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game for
the Rams. Samuels finished sixth in the conference in scoring and was
named Honorable Mention All Skyline. Junior point guard Mike Kerrigan
led the team in assists with 98 and finished third on the team in scoring,
averaging 10.5 per game. Kerrigan led the team with 62 three pointers
and provided solid defense throughout the season. Junior forward John
Antoine had a solid season for Farmingdale, averaging 9.5 points per game
and 7.9 rebounds per game. Antoine also led the team in blocked shots (27)
as well as field goal percentage. His 57 percent from the field was
third best in the conference. He was named to the All-Tournament team
at the Virginia Wesleyan Tip-Off Tournament.
New coach Erik Smiles looks forward to next season. Farmingdale should
have the entire roster back along with a talented group of freshman and
transfers.

Farmingdale (13-13) dropped their Skyline Semifinal game to rival
Old Westbury (18-8) 73-66. Leading 34-33 at the half, the #5 seed
Rams had a chance to pull off another upset in the Skyline Playoffs
over the #1 seed Panthers. Proving to be a great semifinal game between
two SUNY rivals, the score was tied 6 times throughout the game with
seven lead changes in the second half. Farmingdale took the lead with
4:06 remaining on two free throws by John Antoine (Queens, NY/Van Buren)
before Old Westbury went on an 11-3 run to take a deciding 7-point lead.
Antoine finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Rams, while W
illie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) finished with 18 points and 8
rebounds. Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) scored 16 points and
grabbed 7 boards. Jimmy Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Cedar Grove) tallied
7 points and 4 assists. Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) led the
team with 6 assists.
Michael Garrett led the Panthers with 18 points and 7 assists. Sal
Clark finished with 16 points, while Dervent Williams and Chris Roberts
both scored 12.
Farmingdale will now wait for a possible ECAC bid, while the Panthers
move on to the Skyline Finals against Mt. St. Mary’s on Saturday,
February 28th.

Farmingdale Sinks Shot with 1.1 Seconds Left to Defeat Defending

Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) finished the game with 30 points
and hit a baseline reverse lay-up with 1.1 seconds left to help the Rams
beat the defending Skyline champions Kings Point (15-11) 64-62.
Farmingdale (13-12) trailed 37-21 at the half and hit two quick three’s
in the second to start the comeback. The Mariners were up 15 points with
12:51 to go, before the Rams scored the next 14 points. Farmingdale’s
John Antoine (Queens, NY/Van Buren) hit a jumper to take a one-point lead
at 6:47 and the lead would change hands four times throughout the next
five minutes. Samuels hit one-of-two free throws with 40 seconds to go
and Kings Point’s Gabe Whitney (Nashua, NH/Brewster Academy) sunk a
three to tie the score at 62 all with 11.2 seconds remaining. After two
quick timeouts, Samuels received an inbounds pass, took the ball in
the corner and drove the baseline to hit the game-winning lay-up and
give the Rams their first-ever Skyline Conference Playoff victory in
their first season in the conference.
Antoine finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the Rams. Jimmy
Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Cedar Grove) scored 8 points.
Whitney finished with a team-high 24 points and 13 rebounds for
Kings Point. Zach Wyatte (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity) tallied 10 points
and 10 boards. Josh Buck (Warsaw, IN/Warsaw) scored 15 points and
blocked 2 shots.
The Rams will now travel to rival SUNY Old Westbury on Thursday,
February 26th for a Semifinal Conference Game at 7:30pm.

outscore the Golden Eagles (11-13, 6-7 Skyline) 45-29 in the second to
come away with another conference victory. Farmingdale recorded two
double-doubles by John Antoine (Queens, NY/Van Buren) and Kenny McMillian
(Bronx, NY/All Hallows), as four players finished in double figures.
Antoine recorded 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. McMillian tallied
12 points and 13 rebounds. Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) had
16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists for the Rams, while Mike Kerrigan
(Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) recorded 12 points and 5 assists.
Steven Drury (Bellmore, NY/Bellmore JFK) led for St. Joseph’s with 19
points and 9 rebounds. Tim Trava (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford)
finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Ryan Baumbach
(Bethpage, NY/Holy Trinity) grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 3 shots.

Farmingdale (10-12, 6-6 Skyline) lost their third straight game at the
hands of Stevens Institute (6-17, 5-8 Skyline) 67-64. The Rams led at
the half 29-27, before the Ducks came out in the second to take a quick
one-point lead in the first minute of play. Farmingdale trailed 65-60
with 9 seconds to go, before Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead)
was fouled and sunk both free throws to cut the Rams deficit to three,
65-62. Samuels then stole the inbound pass for an easy lay-up, making
the score 65-64 with 7 seconds left. After a quick foul by Farmingdale,
Stevens' Jimmy Dominkewicz (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) was able to
seal the victory by hitting both free throws. The Rams were unable to
convert the three at the buzzer, giving the Ducks their third straight
conference victory.
Dominkewicz led Stevens with 33 points, including 22 points scored in
the second half. Michael Collins (Bronx, NY/ Trinity Pawling) finished
the night with 14 points and 5 rebounds.
Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) led Farmingdale with 16 points
and 11 boards. John Antoine (Queens, NY/Van Buren) finished with 12
points and 9 rebounds. Kerrigan had 11 points and 4 assists, while

Farmingdale fell to 10-11, 6-5 in the Skyline after losing to conference
rival Old Westbury (14-7, 10-1 Skyline) 61-58. The Rams had a slow first
half as they only scored 15 points and trailed at halftime 26-15. Despite
outscoring the Panthers by eight points in the second half, Farmingdale
was unable to take the conference victory. With 19 seconds remaining in
the second, Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) hit a three-pointer
to get the Rams within two points 60-58. The Panthers’ Chris Roberts was
then fouled and able to hit one of his two free throws to increase the
lead to three 61-58. Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) had a
chance to tie it up as time expired, but was unable to capitalize,
giving Old Westbury their 10th conference victory of the season.
Samuels finished with a game-high 20 points. John Antoine (Queens, NY/
Van Buren) had 11 points and Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) had
10 points and 6 rebounds.

The Lancaster Bible Chargers edged Farmingdale (10-10, 6-4 Skyline)
today 71-70 to give the Rams their second straight loss. The Chargers
took a 3-point lead 37-34 into the locker room at halftime and were able
to hold on until the final buzzer. Lancaster’s Scott Long (Lancaster, DE)
scored a game-high 22 points to lead his team to victory.
John Antoine (Queens, NY/Van Buren) was able to tally a team-high 20
points and grab 7 rebounds for the Rams, while Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn,
NY/South Shore) finished with 19 points. Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All
Hallows) scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Jonah Lathbury (Dagsboro, DE) netted 18 points and grabbed 9 boards for
the Chargers. Eric Lee (Bradenton, FL) finished with 12 points and Matt
Lynskey (Columbia, NY) added 10 points and 4 assists.

Skyline) tonight 67-63. Yeshiva had a five-point lead at the half and
was able to stay in front for the majority of the second. The Rams took
the lead twice in the second but were not able to hold on. John Antoine
(Queens, NY/Van Buren) put the Rams within three with 57 seconds
remaining, but Benji Golbert (Los Angeles, CA/Amit Dror) came back
with a three on the next possession to secure the victory.
Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) recorded another double-double
with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead)
tallied 12 points and 9 rebounds. Gerald Brady (Rochester, NY/East) and
Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) both scored 9 points.
The Maccabees finished with four players in double figures. Golbert
scored a game-high 19 points, while Jack Yulzary (Ramla, Israel/Ramla Lod)

the arc (4-for-5) and finished with 14 points and 3 steals. Willie
Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) grabbed 9 boards and scored 11 points
and Curtis Henry (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood) finished with 10 points.
NYCCT’s Shacun Melave (Bronx, NY/Dewitt Clinton) had the games only
double-double finishing with game-highs of 16 points, 11 rebounds and
7 blocks. Roger Redhead (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) chipped in 13 points
and 5 boards. Clyde Forteau (Bronx, NY/St. Raymond’s) finished with
10 points and 8 rebounds.

The Rams were victorious in this Skyline Conference game as they defeated
Mt. St. Mary’s 65-63. Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) hit 2 free
throws late in the second to give the Rams a four-point edge over the
Blue Knights 65-61, before Brendan Twomey (New Windsor, NY/Newburgh
Free Academy) came back with two free throws to cut the lead in half
65-63. With seconds remaining, Twomey had a chance for the tie, but
was unable to capitalize. Samuels scored 21 points in the second half
and finished with 28 points and 8 rebounds.
Farmingdale’s Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) scored yet another
double-double finishing with 14 points and a game-high 18 rebounds.
Newcomer Curtis Henry (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood) was 4-for-7 in field
goals scoring 8 points and 4 rebounds.
Mike Hoyt (Florida, NY/S.S. Seward) led Mt. St. Mary’s with 20 points
and 6 assists, including 8-for-11 on free throws. Twomey finished with
18 points and 3 steals. Kenny Lane (East Meadow, NY/Holy Trinity)

Old Westbury (10-7, 6-1 Skyline) defeated Farmingdale (8-8, 5-3 Skyline)
tonight in overtime 72-71 to remain at first place in the Skyline. The
Rams led by 12 points in the first half at the 12:27 mark before the
Panthers went on a 13-1 run to tie the score at 19-19 with 6 minutes
to go. Old Westbury took a quick 6-point lead, but Kenny McMillian
(Bronx, NY/All Hallows) fired back to tie the score at 28-28. Michael
Garrett (Brooklyn, NY) sunk a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the
Panthers a 3-point lead at halftime 31-28.
In the second half, it was a close game throughout as the score was
tied five times and the greatest lead being only 5 points. Farmingdale
led by four with 1:24 remaining as Dervent Williams (Queens, NY) hit a
three at 1:13. John Antoine (Queens, NY/Van Buren) sunk two free throws
to give the Rams a 3-point lead with 1.6 seconds left. Old Westbury's
Jarrod Weir (Elmont, NY) hit a turnaround three at the buzzer to send
the game into overtime.
Antoine and Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY) quickly scored 7 points to
the Panthers 3 and gave Farmingdale a four-point lead with 1:18 left
in OT. Old Westbury's Garrett again came up with a big three and cut
the lead to one at 1:03. The Rams were unable to score on their next
possession and Chris Roberts (New York, NY) hit two foul shots at :04
to lead the Panthers to a conference victory.
McMillian and Antoine both had 3 blocks on the night. McMillian led
the scoring for the Rams with a double-double of 24 points and 12
rebounds (10 offensive). Antoine also finished with a double-double
at 11 points and 13 rebounds. Kerrigan sunk five three's (5-11) to his
total of 19 points and a game-high 5 assists.
Garrett led for Old Westbury with 24 points, including four three's
(4-9). Sal Clark (New York, NY) totaled 11 points, 4 steals and 3
assists. Carl Gervais (Queens, NY) finished with 7 points, 9 rebounds
and 2 blocks.

The Rams (8-7) picked up their fourth consecutive win today as they
defeated Mt. St. Vincent's (5-9, 4-5 Skyline) 92-60. This is the third
straight conference victory for Farmingdale as they improve to 5-2 in
the Skyline. The Rams had a comfortable halftime lead 44-28 and were
able to hold the lead throughout the second. Kenny McMillian (Bronx,
NY/All Hallows) has recorded five double-doubles in the last six games,
as he scored game-highs of 20 points and 14 rebounds against the
Dolphins.
Shawn Campbell (Bridgeport, CT/Central) hit 5 three-pointers for his
15 points (5-for-8). Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) registered
19 points including 3 three's (3-for-8) and was perfect from the
free throw line (8-for-8). Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead)
finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds.
Pat Narciso (Long Island, NY/Sachem) led the Dolphins with 19 points
and shot 3-for-7 from behind the arc. Luigi Nikci (Bronx, NY/St.
Raymond's) finished with 11 points and a team-high 7 rebounds, while
Greg Casey (Mt. Vernon, NY/Blessed Sacrament) had 10 points and 6
rebounds.

(9-6, 4-2 Skyline) 85-69. Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows),
John Antoine (Queens, NY/Van Buren) and Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/
Hempstead) provided balanced scoring throughout for the Rams. McMillian
finished with 23 points, 18 rebounds and 6 steals. Antoine tallied 12
points and 13 rebounds. Samuels scored 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Farmingdale’s Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) totaled 23
points, as he shot perfect from the free throw line (10-for-10) and
was 3-for-7 from behind the arc.
The Mariners put the pressure on all night and had four players in
double figures. Joe Hart (Frackville, PA/North Schuykill) led with
15 points for the Mariners. Mark Medvetz (Medford, NJ/Shawnee)
scored 13, while Gabe Whitney (Nashua, NH/Brewster Academy) finished

conference opponent Centenary College (1-13, 0-6) 74-71. The Cyclones
led in the first by as much as 14 points before Farmingdale went on an
18-4 run to tie the score at the half. The game remained close in the
second with the score tied four times. With 1:06 left, Willie Samuels
(Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) hit a jumper to give the Rams a 4-point
cushion, before Kelvin Kennedy (Paterson, NJ/Paterson Catholic) hit
three free throws in the last minute to cut the lead to one.
Farmingdale’s Gerald Brady (Rochester, NY/East) stole the ball with
3 seconds left and finished the game off with a dunk, clinching the
Rams second straight conference victory.
Samuels led the team with 17 points, while Brady finished with 13.
John Antoine (Queens, NY/Van Buren) had 15 points, 8 rebounds and
was 6-for-6 at the free throw line. Shawn Campbell (Bridgeport, CT/
Central) hit 3 three-pointers of his 11 points scored and Mike Kerrigan
(Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) tallied 10 points and 3 steals.
Bryan Sherlock (Franklin, NJ/Walkill Valley) scored a game-high 19
points and shot 4-for-7 from behind the arc. Chris Stewart (Jamaica,

Kennedy finished with 12 points including his 8 of 9 free throws and

double-figures as they defeated Lehman (12-3, 5-1 CUNYAC) 76-62. Kenny
McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) and Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY/South
Shore) led the Rams in scoring. McMillian had 17 points, 11 rebounds
and 4 steals in the first half and finished the game with 19 points,
13 rebounds and 4 steals after getting into foul trouble. Kerrigan
scored 16 points with 14 coming in the second half, as he carried the
Rams shooting 4-for-6 from behind the arc.
Other players in double-figures were Farmingdale's Willie Samuels
(Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) with 13 points and John Antoine (Queens, NY/
Van Buren) with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Andre Bagot (Bronx, NY/
Sullivan C.C.) led the Lightning as he totaled 14 points, 4 assists
and 2 steals.

Although the Rams (4-7, 2-2 Skyline) came up short against New Jersey
City (11-3, 3-0 NJAC) 88-58, Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows)
registered his second double-double in as many games. He finished the
night with game-highs of 31 points and 12 rebounds and team-highs of
4 assists, 2 blocks and 3 steals. McMillian had not received the starting
nod before the past two games, but has definitely proven himself worthy
of the position.
The Gothic Knights lead the series 4-0 all time against Farmingdale.
The score was tied 23-23 with 5:30 left in the first half, before NJCU
went on a 20-6 run to lead 43-32 at halftime. Senior Guard Samar Battle
(East Orange, NJ/Clifford Scott) scored a team-high 23 points, scoring
13 in the first half. Mark Washington (East Orange, NJ/West Side) led
the team with a career-high 10 assists.
The Rams had a tough night offensively as they shot 41-percent from
the field and 66-percent from the free-throw line. Willie Samuels
(Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) was second in team scoring with 9 points, 4
rebounds and 3 steals.
The Rams return to action on Saturday, January 17th at 1pm as they
face Lehman College.

Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) finished the night with game-
highs of 31 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The Golden Eagles Steven Drury (Bellmore, NY/Bellmore JFK) hit a
three-pointer to cut the Rams lead to 6 with 5:05 left in the game.
But the Rams went on a 13-4 run to make the score 70-55 with one minute
to go and secure the victory.
Shawn Campbell (Bridgeport, CT/Central) shot 4-for-7 from three-point
territory and finished with 14 points for Farmingdale, as well as 6
rebounds and 2 steals. Drury led the Golden Eagles with 20 points, 5
rebounds and 2 steals, while Ryan Schneider (Floral Park, NY/St. Mary's)
chipped in 10 points and 2 steals.

The Rams (3-6, 1-2 Skyline) dropped a conference game today as they
faced King’s Point (7-4, 3-1 Skyline) 87-70, giving the Mariners their
38th straight conference home game victory. The Rams were down at
halftime 42-31 and had cut their deficit to seven with 16 minutes left.
King’s Point went on a 15-0 run, sinking five 3-pointers to put the
game away.
The Mariners had four players in double figures, led by senior Mark
Medvetz (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) with 19 points and 4 assists. Other
players for Kings Point in double-figures were Josh Buck (Warsaw, IN/
Warsaw) with 17 points, Brian Kelly (Belle Harbor, NY/Abp. Molloy)
with 15 and Joe Hart (Frackville, Pa./N. Schuylkill) with 10 points.

off the bench and scored a game-high 26 points, grabbed 6 rebounds
and had a game-high 5 steals. McMillian is second on the team in
scoring this season, averaging 14.9 points per game. Sophomore Kenny
Cooper (Brooklyn, NY/Canarsie) netted 12 points and 3 assists for
the Rams.

Farmingdale Falls Short Against William Paterson

Farmingdale (3-5, 1-1 Skyline) fell short against William Paterson
(7-3, 2-1 NJAC) tonight, losing a tight game 70-61. The Pioneers led
28-25 at halftime and were able to keep the lead throughout the second
half. Although the Rams cut the lead to five in the final minutes,
they were unable to turn it around for the win.
The Pioneers shot 51-percent from the field and played well defensively
throughout the entire game. Khayrie Battle (Newark, NJ/Bayley-Ellard)
led the Pioneers with 20 points, while Rory Caswell (Toms River, NJ/
Toms River East) scored 11 points. Nick Torres (Hazlet, NJ/Rarian)
controlled the boards for William Paterson as he grabbed 9 rebounds.
Farmingdale’s Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) netted a
game-high 22 points. Shawn Campbell (Bridgeport, CT/Central) shot
4-for-5 from behind the arc and finished the game with 13 points.
Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) was able to grab 9 rebounds
for the Rams as well as chipping in 9 points.
The Rams next game is Saturday, January 10th at King’s Point with
a game time of 4pm.

Men’s Victory Completes Sweep Over Maritime

The Rams (3-4, 1-1 Skyline) picked up their first Skyline victory
in today's win over Maritime. Farmingdale took a quick 7-point lead
early in the first and then went on a 15-0 run to lead 44-24 with 2
minutes to go. With the score 46-28 at the half, the Rams finished
off the victory in the second as they shot 51 percent from the field
(17-for-33) and led by as much as 36 points.
Rams Junior Guard Shawn Campbell (Bridgeport, CT) led the team with
16 points, and was 4-for-10 from behind the arc. Junior Forward Gerald
Brady (Rochester, NY) scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high 8
rebounds. Junior Guard Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY) went 4-for-6 on
3-point field goals and finished the game with 13 points. Coming off
the bench, Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY) scored 14 points for the Rams.
Freshman Guard Jimmy Berkeybile (Pickerington, OH) led the Privateers
with 10 points and Lionell Watlington (Amityville, NY) added 9 points
for Maritime.
The Rams will continue their season on January 5th, 2004 in a Home
game against William Paterson at 7:00pm.

Farmingdale Rally Falls Short at the Buzzer

The Rams (2-4, 0-1 Skyline) lost a close game to Baruch College
(4-4, 2-1 CUNYAC) after a second half rally that fell short 63-62.
Baruch held the lead at halftime 29-28 and was able to pull off the
victory after a close fought game. The Bearcats went 6-for-11 in
3-point field goals in the first half and then shot 54 percent from
the field in the second half.
Baruch's Garry Etienne (Jamaica, NY) netted a team-high 14 points,
grabbed 7 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. Senior Guard Jonathan Rosario
(Brooklyn, NY) scored 10 points for the Bearcats. John Burzo
(Brooklyn, NY) and Chris Alesi (Staten Island, NY) both finished with
9 points for Baruch.
Farmingdale's Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY) recorded a double-double,
scoring a game-high 20 points and adding 10 rebounds. Mike Kerrigan
(Brooklyn, NY) finished with 14 points, shooting 3-for-6 from 3-point
territory. John Antoine (Queens, NY) led both teams in rebounding

Manhattanville Takes Conference Win from the Rams

The Rams (2-3, 0-1 Skyline) fell short in their first Skyline Conference
game of the season against Manhattanville College (3-3, 2-0 Skyline)
with a final score of 67-76. Despite Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY)
game-high 26 points, it was not enough to overcome the Valiants…
Manhattanville led at halftime 28-27, before the Rams came on strong
and held a seven-point lead during the second half. But the Valiants
took a 15-point lead with just over a minute to play. The Rams fought
hard to the end cutting the Valiants lead to only six, but could not
finish off the comeback to take the victory.
Manhattanville’s Farid Johnson (Yonkers, NY) led the Valiants with 24
points. John Danielski (Ansonia, CT) and Johnson led the team in
rebounds with 10.
Farmingdale’s John Antoine (Queens, NY) was perfect at the free
throw line (4-for-4) and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds, which
improved his league-leading rebounding average to 11.0 rebounds
per game. Junior Guard Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY) finished with
12 points and 10 assists, shooting 3-for-6 from 3-point land.

McMillian Nets 25 to Lead Rams Over Rutgers-Camden

Sophomore forward Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY) scored a game-high
25 points in a road victory over the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-
Camden (0-2). Farmingdale (2-2) led Rutgers-Camden 16-14 early in the
first half, before outscoring the Scarlet Raptors 26-2 to give them a
commanding lead at halftime 42-16. Junior guard Willie Samuels
(Hempstead, NY) scored 10 points in the first half as the Rams shot
58 percent from the field (18-for-31).
The Scarlet Raptors played solid in the second half dropping 58 points
as they shot 48 percent (23-of-48) from the field. Rutgers-Camden’s
Dane Nicholson (Pleasantville, NJ) scored 18 of his 20 points in the
second half, while Gene Mergenthal (Sicklerville, NJ) added 16 points
and seven assists. Samuels and John Antoine (Queens, NY) ended the
game with 15 points each for Farmingdale. Antoine also added a game-high
11 rebounds.

The College of Staten Island (2-1) spoiled Farmingdale States (1-2) home opener tonight after erasing a 10 point halftime deficit en route to a 68-64 win. Junior guard Terry Downing (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points for the Dolphins. Freshman guard Matt Saunders (Yonkers,NY/Cardinal Spellman) added 13 points and junior guard Michael Stewart (Brooklyn, NY/Westinghouse) chipped in with 12 for Staten Island, who outscored the Rams 49-35 in the second half.
Sophomore forward Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) led Farmingdale with 16 points and 10 rebounds and guards Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) and Shawn Campbell (Bridgeport, CT/Central) scored 11 points for the Rams, including three 3-pointers each.

The Rams (1-1) picked up their first win of the season against
Messiah (0-2) in the final second of the game. Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn,
NY) sunk a lay-up with one second remaining to tie the score at 70 and
was fouled by Messiah’s Will Cabrera (Miami, FL), sending Kerrigan to
the free throw line where he would make the game-winning basket for
Farmingdale. John Antoine (Queens, NY) finished with a team-high 19
points and 11 rebounds. Willie Samuels (Hempstead, NY) scored 15 points
and 7 rebounds for the Rams, while Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY) sunk 11
points. Messiah’s Quinn McCullough led the team with 21 points, while
Dave Carter (Warrenton, VA) and Greg Bernhardt (Lancaster, PA) each
scored 15.

Farmingdale Finishes Third at Tyson Tip-Off
Farmingdale took part in the Tyson Tip-Off this weekend, which was hosted by Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia. The Rams split their two games, with a loss against Methodist College and a victory over Messiah College. Farmingdale’s John Antoine (Queens, NY) was named to the All-Tournament Team as he recorded 25 points, 21 rebounds and shot 81 percent from the field in the two games played.

was down at halftime 35-23. The Rams improved in the second half scoring
43 points, but were unable to take the Monarchs as came out with the win.

Kenny McMillian (Bronx, NY) tallied 12 points, Mike Kerrigan (Brooklyn,
NY) finished with 11 points and John Antoine (Queens, NY) grabbed 10
