Cross Country Opens Season at Adelphi Panthers Invite

Bethpage, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2019 season at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite at Bethpage State Park on Friday afternoon. The women placed 4th out of 13 teams, while the men came in 6th out of 12 competing schools.

Freshman Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) led FSC in the women's 6k with a 17th place finish in a time of 21:10.6. Senior Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) (21:23.6), sophomore Francesca Frasco (Shelter Island, N.Y.) (21:50.9) and senior Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) (21:56.2) took 21st, 26th and 28th, respectively, out of 111 competitors.

For the men's 8k, sophomore Joshua Green (Shelter Island, N.Y.) placed 11th individually out of 120 runners in a time of 27:19.9. Freshman Connor McKeever (North Babylon, N.Y.) (29:06.7) and sophomore Evan McCrann (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) (30:10.9) finished in 30th and 46th, respectively, for Farmingdale State.

FSC will next travel to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. to compete in the Bard Raptors Invitational on Saturday, September 21st.
