Sophomore Shine for Rams at MSMC Invite

Newburgh, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's and men's cross country teams finished in 3rd place and 11th place, respectively, at today's MSMC Knight Invitational at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome. The women's race featured 198 runners and 24 scoring teams, while the men's race totaled 220 runners and 25 scoring teams.

The women's place 3rd overall out of 24 teams. Sophomore Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) posted a 10th place individually in 25:41, while senior Nicole Franz (Huntington, N.Y.) came in 27th (26:55) and sophomore Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) slated a 32nd place finish (27:09).

In the men's 8K race, sophomore James O'Brien (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) posted a 2nd place finish individually in 27:16 to lead for Farmingdale State, while sophomore David Santa (Maspeth, N.Y.) finished in 24th place (29:29).

Farmingdale State will now run at the Highlander XC Challenge at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J. on Saturday, October 7th.
