- Women Finish 1st, Men Finish 3rd -
Purchase, N.Y. - Junior Nicole Franz (Huntington, N.Y.) and senior Belony Borange (Valley Stream, N.Y.) led the women's and men's cross country teams to a 1st and 3rd place finish, respectively, on Saturday, September 10th at the Purchase Invitational.
Franz took 2nd place individually for the women's team in the 5K race, posting a time of 21:17.9 and finishing just 10 seconds behind the winner. Following Franz for the Rams were four freshmen runners, including Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) who finished in 6th place in 21:58.5, Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) taking 8th place individually at 22:29.5, Erica Bavaro (West Islip, N.Y.) in 11th place and Alicia Shipsey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) in 20th place.
For the men's team in the 8K race, Borange finished in 30:18.1, followed by sophomore Franklin Turcios (Westbury, N.Y.) in 22nd place, junior Caleb Fiedtkou (Bethpage, N.Y.) in 26th, freshman Jon Texidor (Ossining, N.Y.) in 30th and sophomore Kyle Senn (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) in 32nd place.
The Rams will now travel to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. for the Bard Raptor Invitational on Saturday, September 17th.
