The all freshman women�s team finished in 5th place at the Highlander Invitational, led by Karla Joseph (Brooklyn, NY/Clara Barton) in 22nd place, 24:17.37; Shannon Tulloch (Jamaica, NY/Jamaica High) in 26th place, 24:44.59; and Ivory Elder (Dix Hills, NY/Hills West) in 27th place, 25:07.70. Joseph, Tulloch and Elder received awards as the top freshman in the race. Rounding out the women�s team were: Rehana Collins-Sukdeo (37th place, 27:47.58; Smithtown, NY/Farmingdale) and Rachael Osbourne (39th place, 28:38.45; Rosedale, NY/Mary Louis).
Freshman Mike Landi (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) led the men�s cross-country team for the third straight meet. His time of 29:11.38 was good for 10th place and helped the team to a 4th place finish overall at the Highlander Invitational at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ on Sunday afternoon. Mike was followed by Shane Smith (Brooklyn, NY/Lafayette), 18th place in 29:59.74. Both Mike and Shane received awards for their performances. Senior Jason Hernandez (Bay Shore, NY/St. Anthony�s) set a personal best on the Branch Brook Park Course by over a minute, 22nd place in 30:36.65. Rounding out the team were Imani Charles (Queens, NY/Springfield Gardens) in 23rd place with a time of 30:50.34, Jacob Barnhart (Unadilla, NY/Unatego) in 40th place at 33:23.87, and Phil Renna (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) in 49th place at 34:27.20.
The Rams have the Skyline Conference/St. Joe�s meet this weekend at Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunday, October 16th.
