Losquadro Leads Farmingdale State at USMMA Tri-Meet

Kings Point, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at the Merchant Marine Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Kings Point, N.Y. Along with FSC and USMMA, conference opponent Mount Saint Mary College competed at the season-opening meet. The women earned five event wins, while the men posted four event victories.

Farmingdale State was led by junior Danielle Losquadro (Bethpage, N.Y.) who posted victories in both the 100m dash (13.80) and 200m dash (28.51), as well as running the anchor leg of FSC's winning 4x100m relay.

Along with Losquadro, Josephine Castano (Bay Shore, N.Y.), Jillian Kosky (Merrick, N.Y.) and Julianne Pelegrino (Pawling, N.Y.) ran the 4x100m relay in 56.07 to pick up the victory.

Freshman Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) recorded a first place finish in the 1500m run in 5:27.03 and junior Marina Magoulas (Islip, N.Y.) registered a win in the hammer throw (45.30m / 148' 7").

Amira Kemp (Copiague, N.Y.) earned runner-up finishes in both the 100m hurdles (20:30.0) and the high jump (1.35m / 4' 5").

Kosky finished second in the 100m dash in 14.68 and Pelegrino placed second in the pole vault (2.15m / 7' 0.5") to move into fifth on the Farmingdale State all-time list.

In the shot put, Nephar Durand (Huntington Station, N.Y.) placed third with a throw of 10.03m (32' 11") and moved into the #7 spot on the all-time list.

For the men, freshman Joseph Stocken VI (Miller Place, N.Y.) won the 110m hurdles in 17.85, while freshman Rodney Jerome (Westbury, N.Y.) notched first place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.12.

Freshman Justin Miele (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) won the pole vault with a height of 3.49m (11' 5.25") and sophomore Matthew Calogianes (Deer Park, N.Y.) placed first in the 3000m steeplechase.

Freshman Matthew Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) earned a second place finish as he ran the 100m dash in 12.14 in his first collegiate event.

In the 800m, freshmen Connor McKeever (North Babylon, N.Y.) (2:04.37) and Nicholas Reyes (Selden, N.Y.) (2:07.96) placed second and fourth, respectively.

Freshman Theo Triadafillopulos (Levittown, N.Y.) (5.81m / 19' 0.75"), sophomore Chris Syrett (East Norwich, N.Y.) (5.60m / 18' 4.5") and senior Joseph McKeon (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) (5.38m / 17' 8") captured second through fourth in the long jump.

The Rams next will host the Skyline Conference Championships on Sunday, April 25th.
