FSC Opens Season at TCNJ Invitational

Ewing, N.J. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track teams opened the season at the TCNJ Invitational on Saturday.

The men were led by junior Blake Borghard (Northport, N.Y.) who placed third out of 35 in the discus with a toss of 39.63m (130'). In the shot put, Borghard took ninth out of 34 with a distance of 11.70m (38' 4.75") and added a 10th place finish in the hammer (42.73m / 140' 2"). Also in the hammer, junior Markhus Obas (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) placed an FSC-best sixth with a throw of 46.93m (154').

In the 200m, sophomore Denzel Green Wright (Central Islip, N.Y.) recorded a fourth place finish out of 113 competitors in 22.39 and placed eighth of 90 runners in the 400m (50.92). The 4x100m relay team of Green Wright, senior Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.), junior Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.) and junior Joseph Motis (Massapequa, N.Y.) took sixth of 18 with a time of 44.81.

Sophomore Stephen Honoré (Uniondale, N.Y.) finished tied for fifth out of 24 in the triple jump with a leap of 13.43m (44' 0.75").

For the women, sophomore Marina Magoulas's (Islip, N.Y.) hammer throw of 42.38m (139') earned her a fourth place finish out of 22 competitors. Magoulas also notched a ninth place finish in the discus (30.42 / 99' 10"), while freshman Iyana Alexandre (Ridge, N.Y.) claimed 10th (30.37m / 99' 8") in the same event.

Junior Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) competed in both the 1500m (5:19.15) and 3000m (11:10.97) and placed 20th and eighth, respectively.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Stockton College in Galloway, N.J. for the Osprey Invitational on Friday, April 12th and Saturday, April 13th.
