2014 Outdoor Track Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - In the second event of the season at the Roadrunner Invitational, the men's team finished in eighth place, while the women were 19th. The men were led by senior Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) who won the long jump and freshman Bryan Giordano (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who was runner-up in the pole vault with a personal best performance. Sophomore Erin Donovan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) finished in eighth place in both the high jump and pole vault for the women.

At the Collegiate Track Conference Championships on the campus of Richard Stockton, Farmingdale State had two event winners and four individuals post third place finishes. Senior Daquan Grant (Copiague, N.Y.) captured the triple jump and sophomore Jordan Kohlman (Wantagh, N.Y.) won the pole vault. The Rams posted 11 personal bests at the meet.

The men placed eighth and the women ninth at the NJAC Championships held at The College of New Jersey. Lamarre finished second in both the long jump and triple jump as well as fourth in the high jump scoring 21 of Farmingdale State's 46 points. Lamarre was named Second Team All-Conference in the long jump and triple jump. Freshman Karl Nilsen (Smithtown, N.Y.), Kohlman and Giordano placed 4th, 5th and 6th, respectively in the pole vault.

The season wrapped up at the ECAC Championships where Lamarre took sixth place out of 22 competitors in the long jump.
