Pomona, N.J. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track teams placed fourth and sixth, respectively at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships. The men's team scored 87 points, 56 coming from the throwers, while the women's team totaled 24.5.

Freshman Ieshawn Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) won the discus with a distance of 158' 4" and placed second out of 16 in the shot put with a toss of 47' 1". Johnson qualified for the ECAC's in the shot put and his mark ranks fourth on the FSC All-Time List. Junior Mike Jang (Lynbrook, N.Y.) finished second in the hammer throw with a distance of 157' 2" and took fourth place in the shot put (45' 3.5"). Junior Edward Brown IV (Bay Shore, N.Y.) won the hammer with a throw of 160' and finished sixth in the shot put (42' 10 7.5").

Sophomore Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) finished third out of 14 in the long jump with a leap of 22' 3.5". Freshman Jonathan Gortman (Dix Hills, N.Y.) took third in the 110m hurdles as he finished in 16.16 and senior Sean Tiernan (Staten Island, N.Y.) placed third in the 3000m steeplechase (10:00.52).

The women were led by junior Kathleen Clermont (Uniondale, N.Y.) who finished the 100m in a career-best and ECAC qualifying 12.55. Clermont also placed fourth in the 200m with a time of 26.34. Junior Victoria Mandat (West Babylon, N.Y.) improved on her school record in the 100m hurdles as she finished in 15.02. Junior Joanna Pavone (West Islip, N.Y.) placed fifth in a field of 10 in the pole vault (9' 2.25").
