Rams Take 7th at CTC Championships

Center Valley, Pa. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track teams both finished in 7th place at this past weekend's CTC Championships, hosted by DeSales University, in Center Valley, Pa. The Rams won three events at the meet, including the men's discus, men's hammer throw and women's pole vault.

Junior Joanna Pavone (West Islip, N.Y.) tied her school record by clearing 9'8" to take 1st place in the Pole Vault.

Junior Mike Jang (Lynbrook, N.Y.) won the Hammer with an ECAC qualifying distance of 50.37m (165' 3").

Freshman Ieshawn Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) took 3rd in the Hammer and won the Discus with an ECAC qualifying toss of 43.71m (143' 5"). Freshman Andrew Bylicki (Deer Park, N.Y.) took 2nd place with a throw of 40.60m (133' 2").

Junior Kathleen Clermont (Uniondale, N.Y.) took 4th place in the 100 Meters at 12.95, then finished second in the 200 Meters with an ECAC qualifying time of 26.30.

Other Highlights

  • Junior Faustine Chukwuezi took 2nd place in the Triple Jump with a distance of 10.65m (34' 11.25")
  • The women's 4x100 Relay took 2nd place with a time of 50.70
  • Freshman Jonathan Gortman took 4th place in the 110 Hurdles in 17.07
  • Senior Sean Tiernan took 4th place in the 3000m Steeplechase in 10:17
  • The 4x100 Relay took 4th place in 45.14
  • Katherine Hoskins took 5th place in the 100 with a time of 13.27
