- Ieshawn Johnson named Rookie of the Week -
Pitman, N.J. - The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its Week 5 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week selections on Monday, April 16th.
Freshman Ieshawn Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) earns NJAC Men's Outdoor Rookie of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after traveling to Ewing to compete at TCNJ's New Jersey Invitational. He placed first in a field of 25 competitors in the discus with an ECAC qualifying throw of 52.14 meters. He also placed third in a field of 25 competitors in the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 39.96 meters. The performance by Johnson in the discus currently ranks as the seventh best NCAA Division III mark in the event recorded during the 2012 season.
