Chukwuezi and Ellis Wrap Up Season at the National's
NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Delaware, Ohio - Indoor Track All Americans, sophomore Faustine Chukwuezi (Central Islip, N.Y.) and senior Qasim Ellis (Farmingdale, N.Y.) competed in their specialty event, the Triple Jump, at the Division III National Championships held at Ohio Wesleyan University's Selby Field from May 26-28.
Chukwuezi jumped 11.47m (37' 7 3/4") to place 8th in the Nation and earn her second All-American Award of the year. Her first jump in the competition was her best and and she was in 7th place going into the finals. One jumper surpassed her in the final round and she placed 8th overall out of the 24 Championship jumpers.
Qasim, a senior, also had his first jump be his best, at 14.38m (47' 2 1/4"), but did not qualify for the finals and placed 13th overall in the competition. Qasim finishes his career holding both the indoor - 47' 5 3/4", and the outdoor - 47' 8" Triple Jump school records.
Faustine, a sophomore, holds the indoor Triple Jump record - 37' 10 1/2" and is second in the outdoor list with a jump of 38' 5 1/2".
