Six Women's Soccer Players Named to All-Skyline Conference Teams

COMPLETE ALL-SKYLINE CONFERENCE RELEASE

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference's 12 head women's soccer coaches have cast their ballots on the 2022 edition of the all-conference team, and six student-athletes from Farmingdale State College were cited on the list.

First-team honorees from the Rams include: freshman forward Alyse Rivera (Manhattan, N.Y.); senior defensive midfielder Mackenzie Caterina (Walden, N.Y.); junior center back Alexxis McNeil (Valley Stream, N.Y.); senior fullback Celina Schenk (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.); and senior keeper Lindsey Jolly (Massapequa, N.Y.). Senior captain Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) took home second-team kudos.

Rivera tied for the team lead in scoring in her rookie campaign with 26 points, while also firing home a team-high 11 goals. The Oct. 18 selection as the Skyline's Rookie of the Week ranked fifth in the conference in goals scored, with none bigger than her late game-winning strike on Oct. 29 in the 3-2, first-round victory over Mount Saint Mary. Rivera's 26 points also tied for the fifth-highest mark on the Skyline leaderboard.

Caterina split time in her first year as a starter for FSC between center back and defensive midfielder, helping the Rams to post six shutouts in conference action and eight overall -- including a pair in the Skyline Championship. Her first goal of the season late in the semifinals match at Mount Saint Vincent (Nov. 2) on a set-piece situation iced the contest for the Rams, providing for the final 2-0 margin.

Schenk and McNeil -- a second-team selection in 2021 -- were mainstays on the Farmingdale State defense, as well, starting in 23 and 22 contests, respectively. McNeil's speed allowed her to thwart numerous opportunities by the opposition, while Schenk (the Oct. 26 Skyline Defensive Player of the Week) also got forward on set-piece and corner-kick situations to dish out five assists -- a mark that ranked third on the team and tied for 14th in the Skyline.

Jolly started in 11 of her 15 appearances in the Rams net, posting a 1.00 goals-against average and .797 save percentage that ranked second and third in the Skyline, respectively. She was in on seven clean sheets for FSC, with five of the solo variety -- including the Nov. 5 championship final at Sarah Lawrence in which her three saves helped keep the game scoreless through 110 minutes of action.

Martinez is now a four-time all-conference selection, as she led the Skyline and ranks No. 35 nationally with her nine assists on the season. She finishes her illustrious Farmingdale State career with program rankings for career game-winning goals (14, 2nd), goals (37, T-3rd), points (93, 4th) and assists (19, T-5th).
