FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Third-seeded Farmingdale State traveled to #2 Mount Saint Vincent for the Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Semifinals this afternoon and won, 2-0. The Rams have advanced to the Skyline Final for the sixth consecutive season and will play the winner of the other Semifinal matchup between #5 Manhattanville and #1 Sarah Lawrence on Saturday.

Farmingdale State (10-9-3) got on the board early as senior midfielder Victoria Gonzalez (Brentwood, N.Y.) passed the ball ahead to junior forward Jazzmin Terrell (West Babylon, N.Y.), who took a shot from 30 yards out and buried it to the top right corner of the net to go in front, 1-0.

FSC nearly doubled their lead in the 29th minute as senior forward Emily Zeblisky (Northport, N.Y.) sent a shot off the goal post.

The Rams maintained the 1-0 advantage throughout the first half as they outshot Mount Saint Vincent, 6-2. In the final moments of the first 45 minutes, the Dolphins attempted a pair of crosses in front of the net, but the Farmingdale State defense thwarted the first try before sophomore goalie Chloe Kensell (Monroe, N.Y.) dove on top of the second attempt.

Neither team had a shot on goal over the first 20 minutes of the second half. The Dolphins had a pair of shots that went high of the net.

In the 75th minute, FSC drew a foul just past the midfield line. Senior defender Celina Schenk (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) stepped up for the free kick and placed it just inside the box for senior defender Mackenzie Caterina (Walden, N.Y.), who headed the ball over the top of the CMSV keeper and into the net to give FSC a 2-0 advantage.

The Dolphins made a push in the final 15 minutes, putting three shots on net, but Kensell stopped each one as Farmingdale State went on for the 2-0 victory.

Kensell made six saves for the Rams to pick up the shutout win. Brooke Frierson totaled four saves for Mount Saint Vincent.

Farmingdale State has advanced to the Skyline Conference Championship game and will play for the trophy on Saturday, November 5th. The match will be played at the site of the highest remaining seed.
