Women's Soccer Victorious at Maritime

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. | In a match that commenced on Sept. 20 and resumed Friday afternoon in the 66th minute of play, the Farmingdale State College women's soccer team picked up a 1-0, Skyline Conference victory at Maritime College.

Per NCAA policy, all statistics and the result of the match revert back to the original Sept. 20 date.

The visiting Rams (7-8-1, 7-0 Skyline) got all of the offense it needed on the original date, when senior captain Julissa Martinez (Brentwood, N.Y.) converted from the penalty spot in the 50th minute of play.

FSC outshot the host Privateers (3-8, 2-5) in the match by a 23-5 count, including an 11-1 edge in the opening half on the initial date of competition. 

In Friday's conclusion, Rams senior keeper Lindsey Jolly (Massapequa, N.Y.) made two saves to pick up her third clean sheet of the season, including a crucial stop in the 78th minute after an initial Maritime shot rang off the bar. She added one more save in the final 30 seconds of the match preserve the victory.

Head coach Chris Roche's Farmingdale State side is back in Skyline action Saturday afternoon, when it plays host to Old Westbury on Senior Day in a noon kickoff.
