MONTCLAIR, N.J. | The Farmingdale State College women's soccer put together a stout defensive effort Thursday night at the MSU Soccer Park, with host Montclair State University, ranked No. 12 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division III Top-25 Poll, using a third-minute tally to claim a 1-0 decision over the Rams.

MSU (7-0) received the breakthrough goal from Aileen Cahill, converting a Kyle Prendergast feed from down the left channel to find the back of the net.

Sophomore midfielder Maddy Berry (Glen Head, N.Y.) attempted to equalize in the 39th minute for the Rams (1-6-1), putting a shot on target that the Red Hawks keeper turned aside. FSC senior keeper Lindsey Jolly (Massapequa, N.Y.) made a career-best eight saves for the Rams.

Head coach Chris Roche's Farmingdale State side next returns to action at home Saturday afternoon, when it welcomes first-year Skyline Conference women's soccer entrant, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
